In Sant Andreu de la Barca, Can Preses is one of only two surviving farmhouses in the town. The building preserves a large part of its original structure. At Can Preses, millennia-old olive trees can be seen as remnants of Sant Andreu de la Barca’s former agricultural landscape. Can Preses thus represents the town’s preserved rural building heritage; much of its original structure has been retained.

Culture

Since 2021, the Escoles Velles building has served as a tourist information office and provides visitors with tourist information. From 3 to 23 June 2025, the first edition of KROMATIC, Sant Andreu de la Barca’s urban art festival, transformed the city’s streets into a vibrant map of large-scale murals. The large-scale murals were spread across several neighbourhoods. KROMATIC did not place its murals in a single location, but rather across several neighbourhoods.

The Festa Major of Sant Andreu de la Barca lasts four days and takes place at the end of summer. It is held either on the last weekend of August or the first weekend of September. It includes a gathering of giant figures and Correfocs through the streets of the historic town centre. The Festa Major combines the late-summer date with the historic town centre, through which the Correfocs pass.
