Mediona: Vall de Mediona, History and Hiking Trails

The Vall de Mediona lies between the Serra de Puigfred, the Serra d’Ancosa, the Serra del Bolet and the Muntanya del Marquès. Farmland, vineyards and forests create a mosaic of landscapes there.

Culture and History

The Església de Sant Joan de Conilles has been documented since 1208; at that time, it was a suffragan church of Santa Maria del Castell de Mediona.

The bell tower of the Església de Sant Joan de Conilles has a square layout.

In its upper section, the bell tower transitions into an octagonal shape and is connected to the rectory by a raised passage over the street.

The Miravinya Ermita de Sant Elies was first mentioned in 1301 and may be Romanesque in style.
