Masdenverge between the Ebre Delta and Els Ports

Culture and history

The origins of Masdenverge date back to the mid-18th century. During this period, farmers from Tortosa settled and cultivated the previously uncultivated plains in the southwest. The Molí de Rosquilles reflects this rural heritage: the mill and press have been preserved there together with rural equipment mainly associated with olive-oil production.

A locally protected cultural asset (BCIL) is the Església de la Mare de Déu del Roser on Plaça de l'Església in Masdenverge. The Museu de les Terres de l'Ebre is located nearby. Other museums in the vicinity of Masdenverge include Talles Ginovart and the Centre d'Interpretació de la Setmana Santa. The Pintures Rupestres d'Ulldecona are an archaeological site in the surrounding area.

Events

The Fira del Caçador is an established event in Masdenverge. It combines the subject of hunting with the management and conservation of biodiversity. The Jornades Culturals include the traditional outdoor meal for Sant Joan called “Sopem a la plaça”.
