Discover El Perelló: Coastal Path, History and Holiday Apartments

Culture

The Molí de Vent is a municipal historic monument dating from 1564. In El Perelló, the Molí de Vent was reconstructed and inaugurated on 22 September 2001. The Museu Municipal houses a collection of tools, agricultural equipment and materials from the Spanish Civil War. It also contains flint fragments from the Cova de la Mallada.

The Cabrafeixet rock paintings can be reached by car, are well signposted and can be visited without a guide. The monument, collection and rock paintings differ in form and can be considered separately when making your own selection.

History

The Torre dels Moros, officially Torre de les Guàrdies, is an optical telegraph tower built in the mid-19th century and belonged to a chain of towers that extended as far as the French border. It can be reached directly by car via the road branching off from the southern entrance to the town.

The preserved remains of the Via Augusta in El Perelló extend for approximately 4 km.

The coastal path and the historic sites have different focuses: on the GR-92, distance and difficulty levels take centre stage, while the Molí de Vent and Torre dels Moros are characterised by their construction date, reconstruction and technical function, respectively.

Nature

The Espai Natural de Muria enables visitors to observe and learn about the bees’ habitat, bee colonies, honeycombs or cells containing pollen and honey, as well as the tools used by beekeepers. The Barranc de les Calobres is home to a great variety of animals.

On the route to the Pantà de les Calobres, the seasonal blooming of water lilies can be observed in May. Observation at the Espai Natural, wildlife in the Barranc and seasonal flowering each offer a different way of experiencing nature.

Firabril is a fair for honey and olive oil held in El Perelló in April. Typical products from El Perelló include rosemary, orange blossom and wildflower honey, as well as extra virgin olive oil. For a culinary focus, you can distinguish between the fair event and the specifically named products.
