Mont-ral is characterised by a wooded and rugged landscape with gorges, vertical cliffs and caves. Nature, outdoor activities, architectural history and an everyday culinary custom can be considered as distinct perspectives alongside one another.

Landscape

Les Motllats is a natural platform covering 5 square kilometres at an altitude of 1,023 metres. The Cova de Mont-ral is 22 metres deep and has a 158-metre-long cave passage. The Cova de la Moneda, also known as Cova dels Motllats, lies at an altitude of 990 metres and has a 165-metre-long cave passage. It is the best-known cave in the surrounding area.

When planning, area, altitude, depth and passage length can be considered as separate details. When several interests come together, nature, activities, history and local everyday life can be weighted independently of one another.

Activities

More than 300 climbing routes or climbing variants run along the cliffs in the municipality of Mont-ral. Cingle Serè is a climbing area directly below the village of Mont-ral. The Vilaplana/Albiol–La Mussara–Mont-ral–Farena hiking route passes through Mont-ral. The intensive fishing area on the Brugent River extends from Farena to La Riba.

Climbing, hiking and fishing can be compared separately as different types of activity when planning your trip. The combination does not have to be understood as a single programme; you can compare the individual focuses independently with your other interests.

Culture

The Església de Sant Pere ad Vincula was built in the second half of the 12th century, shortly after the Christian conquest. During a later construction phase, probably in the 18th century, two side chapels, the sacristy and the bell tower were added to the Església de Sant Pere ad Vincula.

You can weight historical interests differently from your focus on nature and activities; the building’s history provides its own way of viewing the town.

Planning

When comparing a holiday apartment in Mont-ral, you can first check travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions side by side on the accommodation side. In addition, you can note whether nature, outdoor activities, architectural history or local everyday life should be the deciding factor for your trip; this weighting is left to your own planning. In this way, different priorities can be considered one after another rather than simultaneously. The holiday apartment remains a separate planning item: travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be considered independently of one another, while nature, outdoor activities, architectural history and local everyday life remain independent areas of focus. This combines objective accommodation details with your personal weighting without reducing Mont-ral to a single travel concept or priority.

Other local pages

Other local pages in the regional context include Arnés, Bràfim, Porrera, Alfara De Carles, Santa Coloma De Queralt, Vilaverd, Els Pallaresos and La Fatarella. They keep the focus open to other place names without conflating Mont-ral’s focal points with them.

Local everyday life

Buying bread and Magdalenas at the bakery in Mont-ral is customary there.
