Culture

The parish church of Sant Jaume was built in the 17th century. Its Baroque organ dates from 1730, is unique in the comarca and requires extensive restoration. The main altarpiece dates from the 18th century; its creator is unknown, and between 1794 and 1797 it was gilded by the craftsman Joan Guasch from Valls.

The Santuari de la Mare de Déu de Loreto sanctuary was built between 1889 and 1892 in the Neo-Romanesque style. It stands on Puig-rodó and can be reached on foot from Bràfim. A fountain in the landscaped garden of the sanctuary was designed by the sculptor Josep M. Jujol.

Casa de la Vila is an institutional building by Cèsar Martinell Brunet in the Noucentisme style, dating from 1911–1929. Bràfim Town Hall was built by Cèsar Martinell in 1923.

Routes and Festivals

The Bràfim–Vila-rodona stage of the Camí de Sant Jaume follows Avinguda de Catalunya, the old road through the town, to Bràfim. For your daily planning, a route section and a fixed Sunday date can be considered as different time-based focal points.

The Aplec de Primavera is an annual Sardana gathering held in Bràfim around the Santuari de la Mare de Déu del Loreto. On the first Sunday in June, the Aplec de Primavera takes place at the Santuari de la Mare de Déu de Loreto and is considered the oldest gathering of its kind in the southern comarques of Catalonia.

Land and Food & Drink

Casa Vermouth Padró is located in a manor house dating from 1776 in Bràfim. During the guided tour of the historic cellar, the step-by-step process of producing vermouth by traditional methods is presented. The tour ends with a guided tasting of the vermouths from Padró & Co. and Myrrha.

The Fira de la Cirera takes place on the first Sunday. At the Fira de la Cirera, visitors had the opportunity to taste and buy cherries from the growing areas around Bràfim bearing its quality seal. There were also stalls run by local cherry producers and other agricultural and craft producers from Bràfim.
