When entering Duesaigües from the T-313 road, the viaduct named after the Barranc dels Masos is visible. It reaches a maximum height of 36 metres and has been recognised as part of Catalonia’s industrial heritage.

Culture

The parish church of Santa Maria in Duesaigües is a Renaissance-style church documented since the 14th century. It was rebuilt over an older church building and consecrated in 1753.

There are several old lime kilns on the Camí de Porrera. Two of them are located in the municipality of Duesaigües and are 80 metres apart. The lime kiln on the Camí de Porrera is listed as an industrially used element from the 19th and 20th centuries, with catalogue number 49011, in the Inventory of Catalonia’s Architectural Heritage.

Duesaigües’s main festival takes place on 15 August in honour of the Assumption of Mary. Anyone wishing to read the history of the town chronologically can consider the documented mention, the construction phases, the industrial evidence and the festival date as different points of reference.

Other places: Prat De Comte, Arbolí, Albinyana, L'arboç, L'eucaliptus, Sant Jaume Dels Domenys, Ferran and Les Borges Del Camp.

Routes and activities

The Font de Vilamanya is located on the route to Castell Monestir Sant Miquel d'Escornalbou. The walking route “Caminos empapados de historia” descends to Duesaigües along a PR route running parallel to the Rasa de Vilamanya. For planning purposes, it is worth distinguishing the names and routes precisely.

In Duesaigües, the terrain is considered not very demanding for hiking. Road cycling and mountain biking are also possible. The hiking terrain described and the two forms of cycling represent different types of activities that can be compared separately.

The excursion “Pel Sud de la Baronia” is suitable for hiking or mountain biking. The route uses the surfaced PR path between Duesaigües and the Castell-monestir d'Escornalbou. Another excursion, “Camins de la Baronia d'Escornalbou”, leads to Duesaigües and L’Argentera and into the surroundings of the Castell-monestir d'Escornalbou. The route “Ruta per la Baronia d’Escornalbou” includes guided visits in Riudecanyes, Duesaigües and L’Argentera. The different names help distinguish the walking route, tour format and guided visit as separate offerings.

For planning a day in Duesaigües, the offerings can be organised by activity type: walking route, hiking, road cycling, mountain biking and guided visits are presented as different formats. The specific route names help prevent the respective locations from being confused and distinguish between the path to Duesaigües, the connections to the Baronia and the visits to several places.
