At VIEROSLAVÍN, visitors can see a wooden replica of the Zbruch Idol. Ceramic reliefs of Slavic deities can also be seen there: LADA, ŽIVA, MAKOŠ, VELES, PERÚN and SVAROG. The reliefs were created by local artist Juliana Hadvigová.

The Slovanský Dvor Slavica in Alekšince has the character of a museum in the form of a traditional farmhouse for presenting folk culture. It hosts exhibitions, concerts, art competitions, commemorative events, celebrations of traditional festivals, as well as educational conferences and seminars. The events are accessible to people with disabilities and wheelchair users; the grounds are barrier-free, and the Pribinova Dvorana has a universal ramp. The Slovanský Dvor Slavica also features a bronze bust of Alfons Mucha, considered the only one of its kind in Slovakia. History

Archaeological finds provide evidence that the area around Alekšince has been inhabited since the Early Stone Age. These include a blade scraper made of limnoquartzite, produced more than 20,000 years ago.

The Church of St. Anne was built as a Classicist chapel in 1802, expanded with a side nave in 1939 and given a vestibule in 1959. Its main altar dates from 1802 and includes a Calvary group. The church is considered to be well preserved and continues to serve its religious purpose. Alekšince is also home to a statue of St. John of Nepomuk from the second half of the 18th century. Christian traditions include a Budičkový procession, which passes through a different part of the village each time.

Historical men’s clothing is also among the traditional cultural details: it included hemp shirts with wide, embroidered sleeves. The embroidery on the sleeves was white, yellow, black and red.

Landscape

Intensive agriculture has shaped the landscape of Alekšince, with flat, deforested ridges, broad valleys and hollows, as well as gently rolling hills. The Andač stream flows through the centre of Alekšince and empties into the Radošinka River. The Alekšince fishponds are used for recreation and fishing. The Nitra–Hlohovec railway line, which was put into operation in 1898, also runs through Alekšince.

Events

“Alekšinský kotlík” is a recurring goulash-cooking competition in Alekšince; in 2025, the municipality announced its tenth edition. At “Alekšinský kotlík”, visitors who are not taking part in the competition can taste goulash prepared by local hunters.

The second edition of the event “VYKROJ SA NA DVOR” took place on 6 June 2026 at the Slovanský Dvor Slavica in Alekšince. Its programme included a treasure hunt for children connected with Slavic history and cultural heritage.

The cynological grounds in Alekšince are located in a peaceful setting; various cultural and sporting events take place there every year. Events at the cynological grounds include dog-sport competitions and goulash-cooking competitions. The grounds have a covered fireplace with 60 seats, toilets with a shower, a kitchen, a terrace and a dance floor.
