Sacred architecture

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Rišňovce was built between 1766 and 1775. It is a late Baroque single-nave building with a square presbytery and an attached sacristy; the interior is characterised by Baroque and Rococo elements. Its furnishings include a Louisian main altar from the second half of the 18th century and a small bell dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius from 1747. This bell was found by chance in the attic of the rectory. Including the cross at its top, the tower is approximately 27 metres high. The choir loft is not accessible from the church interior, but from outside via steep steps by the tower.

Manor house and museum

The Renaissance manor house in Rišňovce has been listed as a national cultural monument in the central register since 2 July 1993. Its earliest construction phase probably dates back to the mid-16th century. At that time, the building consisted of a single-storey, three-room, single-wing structure with a basement. The manor house is also associated with a stay by Marshal Kutuzov: he spent the night there from 18 to 19 December 1805 after the Battle of Slavkov on 2 December 1805.

The M. I. Kutuzov Museum features a permanent exhibition with copies of historical documents relating to the history of Rišňovce and Kutuzov’s stay in the village. The lower rooms also contain a permanent exhibition of folk culture artefacts. The museum can only be visited by prior telephone appointment.

Landscape and archaeology

Rišňovce lies in the southwestern part of the Nitra loess hill country. Archaeological sites within the municipality provide evidence of settlement in the Neolithic and Hallstatt periods. The archaeological findings also include pottery fragments from the Roman period.

Memorial sites

The Cyrillic-Methodian double cross stands in a well-maintained park south of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Rišňovce. The memorial to the fallen was erected in 1935 by firefighters from the Czechoslovak Volunteer Fire Brigade Corps with the support of local residents. It honours the inhabitants of Rišňovce who fell in the First World War (1914–1918).

The Stations of the Cross comprise fourteen stations made of acacia wood and serve as a place for personal prayer, relaxation and recuperation. For passers-by on their way to the cemetery in Horné Rišňovce, these stations serve as a memorial.

Cycling

Cycling route 8110 connects Nitra with Rišňovce and runs along asphalt, paved and dirt roads. The yellow cycling route 8110 is an easy MTB route suitable for recreational cycling and family bike rides.
