Branč is located in the Danubian Lowland on the right bank of the Nitra River. Visitors interested in culture can distinguish between individual structures, archaeological sites, landscape features and regional themes here.

Culture

In the village there is a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1774 and another statue of Saint Urban from 1794. The ensemble of Saints Cyril and Methodius was created by the sculptor Gibala and unveiled in 1943. The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Branč is first mentioned in writing in 1318 as a stone church.

In the Arkuš district of Branč, the foundation remains of medieval houses can be found. North of Branč, in a field in the cadastral area of Veľká Ves at the Arkuš site, lies the national cultural monument Hrádok (ÚZPF 1398/1), a medieval earthwork fortification complex dating from the 12th to the 13th century.

The cadastral area of Branč contains an extensive Neolithic burial ground of the Lengyel culture. A burial ground from the Early Bronze Age is associated with the Nitra and Únětice cultures; there is also a settlement from the La Tène period.

Getting Around

The Nitra–Nové Zámky railway line runs through Branč. Branč is also located on the main Nitra–Nové Zámky transport route, the I/64 road.

The 43-kilometre blue-marked Dolné Krškany–Branč–Poľný Kesov–Cabaj–Čápor cycling circuit leads to Branč.
