The surroundings of Krokava are largely deforested; where forests predominate, they are mostly beech forests. The Tŕstie educational trail offers distant views of the Low and High Tatras as well as Muránska planina.

Trails

The Tŕstie educational trail from Tisovec is 6 km long and has five information panels covering the Tŕstie massif and its natural richness. Part of the Tŕstie educational trail passes through the Tŕstie Nature Reserve. The trail is intended exclusively for walkers and passes a monument to the botanist Václav Vraný.

The Cesta Márie Széchy tourist route runs along the ridge of Tŕstie and between Fiľakovo Castle and Muráň Castle. A cycling route also passes through Krokava, climbing uphill to the ski lift at the end of the village. The Krokava cycling route is classified as moderately difficult. There is also a ski resort in the cadastral area of Krokava. From the upper station of the ski lift in Krokava, there is a picturesque view of the municipality of Sirk and Mount Železník.

Culture
