Tradition

Mitrovanie, also known as valaské hody or sviatok ovčiarov, is an old tradition marking the end of the shepherding season. The event took place on 18 October 2025 at Salaš pod Maginhradom in Veľké Teriakovce for the twelfth time.

The programme included demonstrations of sheep shearing, the preparation of Žinčica, the production of cheese, Parenica and Bryndza, as well as the processing of sheep's wool.
