Nevoľné is considered a mountain municipality in the Kremnica Mountains at an elevation of 705 m. Marked trails, distinctive rock formations and a landscape shaped by volcanic activity give the place a clear character. Landscape and nature

The terrain around Nevoľné ranges from its lowest point at 504 m in the valley of the Bieleho potoka to 950 m on the slopes of Kremnický štít. Over a distance of around one kilometre, the difference in elevation is 410 m. Ďurova skala, consisting of andesite cliffs, is located near the municipality and offers views of Dolná Ves and part of Kremnica.

Peňažná is also one of the area's distinctive landscapes: it is a landscape formed by volcanic activity, with rock blocks and scree loosened by erosion and covered by dense forest.

Hiking

Marked hiking trails from Nevoľné lead to the Jastrabská skala natural monument and the Kremnický štós nature reserve. The 23 km-long Kremnica–Trnavá Hora Magistrála also passes through the village. A hiking route from Nevoľné to Ďurova skala is signposted, while the hike from Nevoľné to the Jastrabá railway stop takes approximately two to three hours.

At Peňažná, a trail ends at a naturally formed rock temple. Masses for pilgrims are celebrated there. A Stations of the Cross was later also built beside the cross at Peňažná.

Cycling and bus connections

The blue-marked POHRONSKO – KREMNICKÝ OKRUH cycling route passes through Nevoľné. This circular route is suitable for road bikes, trekking bikes and mountain bikes. Buses connect Nevoľné with Kremnica.

Culture and history

The Nevoľnícky waterworks facility from 1940 lies along the 23 km-long Kremnica–Trnavá Hora Magistrála. Construction began on 21 May 1940; water was already flowing into the reservoir on the third day. The structure is therefore also connected with the long-distance route through Nevoľné.

In connection with the land register of 1487, Nevoľné is named as one of the villages whose first surviving written mention is associated with it. The church in Nevoľné contains an organ from 1973 with 1,724 pipes. The church in Nevoľné was consecrated on 13 September 1970.

Traditional march

The traditional Prechod krajom SNP march takes place every year on the last Saturday in August. At this event, buses take hikers from Nevoľné to Skalka. A 15 km route and a 20 km route start there.
