A traditional custom handed down through generations is also documented for Horná Ždaňa. During Stavanie mája 2026, young men in the village erected a maypole for the local girls. The municipality presented the event as the preservation of the traditions and customs of their ancestors. Trails

A designated cycling tour leads from Žiar nad Hronom via Dolná Trnávka, Dolná Ždaňa and Horná Ždaňa to Prochot. Its length is approximately 16 km, excluding the return journey. The route therefore connects several named places and passes through Horná Ždaňa before reaching Prochot.
