One specific way to explore these landscapes and places by bike is the Kraut-und-Rüben (Cabbage and Turnips) Cycling Route, which runs through green fields and villages in the Rhine-Palatinate District and along the Rhine. Mechtersheimer Weiher is also nearby, between Römerberg and Lingenfeld. It has a water area of 3.5 hectares and a beach of 13,000 square metres. In the 19th century, the family ran a black, blue and fine dyeing works in Iggelheim; blue dyeing is recognised as intangible cultural heritage. The old schoolhouse in Böhl-Iggelheim shows what school was like in the past and also houses an extensive collection of valuable porcelain. In Bobenheim-Roxheim, the local history museum of the Association for Nature Conservation and Local Heritage is housed in the former Roxheim town hall. It has the largest collection on the nature of the Rhine floodplains in the Palatinate. The landscape itself is at the heart of this collection, while the Palatinate Social History Cigar Factory Museum e. V. in Rödersheim-Gronau offers insights into the history of cigar production and its influence on the local community. In Dannstadt-Schauernheim, the Historic Shoemaker’s Workshop is located in the Alte Schule (Old School) centre.
