Schifferstadt presents its history along an official historical walking tour. It connects the half-timbered town hall dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, the village’s historic triangle, Baroque farmhouses from the 18th century, St. James’s Church with foundations dating from the 12th century, the former „Wilder Mann“ cultural centre, and the presentation of the Golden Hat at the local history museum.

Nature and Trails

The archaeological adventure trail leads to 2,800-year-old burial mounds, the site where the 3,300-year-old Golden Hat was found, and a spring that has been used for 5,000 years. The short access route to the site where the Golden Hat was found is paved, the Queckbrunnen is beside the road, and the burial mounds can be reached on foot from the road.
Cycling
The approximately 21-kilometre circular cycling route Rund um Schifferstadt leads through forests, meadows and vegetable-growing areas. It passes the forest educational trail, the Marien Chapel, a golf course, the fishermen’s hut, the access route to the site where the Golden Hat was found, and the historic Queckbrunnen. The route mainly uses flat cycle paths and farm tracks and is suitable for families with children.
The Salier Cycle Route runs directly through Schifferstadt. The more than 130-kilometre route connects historically significant Salian sites between Speyer, Bad Dürkheim, Frankenthal and Worms.
