The Bitburger LandGang – Kleine Wacholderrunde begins on Schulstraße by the community centre in Halsdorf. The first documented name of the village is Haltzdorf; it is recorded for the year 1501. The branch church of St Ignatius and St Francis Xavier, listed as a historic monument, is a hall church with a roof turret dating from 1778.

A listed one-roof farmhouse at Hauptstraße 13 dates from 1786; its surviving features include a stable wing with haylofts and a cellar built into the slope. The former schoolhouse at Hohlweg 4 has a distinctive façade and dates from 1852. A listed linear farmstead at Schulstraße 4 also dates from 1786 and was later extended. North of Halsdorf, towards Olsdorf, there is a wayside cross with a relief-decorated shaft dating from 1777.

Local Specialities

The Heck distillery in Halsdorf is described as a place where visitors are offered home-distilled fruit brandy. The Norbert Heck distillery is described as offering a guided distillery tour explaining the production of Eifel schnapps and spirits. The tasting is described as a selection of 10 different spirits and liqueurs served with savoury snacks and mineral water.
