Geographical Location

Culture

On the Sunday after Ash Wednesday, Feuerscheid celebrates the Scheefsonndich tradition with a large straw or brushwood fire. Traditionally, after the Scheefsonndich fire, the couple most recently married prepares Nuuzen and egg pancakes.

The Feuerscheid Hiking Days include a children's torchlight hike followed by eating bread baked on sticks, as well as a guided hike with games. The local dialect belongs to the Moselle Franconian dialect group.

History

Feuerscheid was almost destroyed by three major fires. The filial church of Saint Valentinus was consecrated in 1960. Hardt Chapel was built in 1957 in place of an earlier structure and contains a wooden relief of the Fourteen Holy Helpers.
