Landscape and Paths

Grenderich is located in the Zeller Land tourist region, near the Moselle Valley and the surrounding Moselle-Hunsrück landscape. The Moselle Valley and the nearby Hunsrück heights around Grenderich offer hiking and cycling trails. The Flaumberg Trail follows the Abelsbach stream towards the Flaumbach Valley and passes with a view of Altenweg's Mill, which is described as the only well-restored and permanently used mill on the Flaumbach.

The Mill Trail is a 9.3-kilometre circular trail with 220 metres of elevation gain. It passes the former Grenderich Farmers' Mill, also known as Hornsmühle.

Culture and History

The parish church of St Matthias in Grenderich was built between 1870 and 1872 according to plans by district architect Schmitt from Cochem.

Its high altar is associated with the architect Reinhold Wirtz from Trier. The parish church of St Matthias can be viewed from the outside at any time.

The chapel, also known as the Marien Chapel or Lindenhäuschen, stands at the intersection of a footpath to Senheim and the Moselle Höhenweg trail.

Experiences

The Grenderich Barefoot Park includes a Kneipp pool, a mud pool and sensory trails around a small pond. It can be reached via Preisstraße; there is a car park nearby.
