Wershofen offers wooded valleys, forests and views across the Eifel landscape for hiking and outdoor activities. The Wershofen gliding club offers introductory training and guest flights over the Eifel, either in a glider or a motor glider.

The Radarena am Ring route, which is connected with Wershofen, covers 32.1 kilometres and 623 metres of elevation gain. One Radarena-am-Ring road cycling route starts in Wershofen, descends towards the Ahr Valley and continues through the High Eifel; it ends at the Wershofen, Hauptstraße 17 bus stop.

Circular hiking trail no. 5 is marked continuously in one direction with its route symbol. As a circular hike, it leads from Schuld towards Wershofen through forested, meadow and rocky sections of the High Eifel.

Culture and History

The Kottenborn Chapel in Wershofen was built in 1892. Inside, there are depictions of St Brigitta and St Donatus, saints who are particularly venerated in agriculture. The area in front of the chapel offers far-reaching views across the hilly High Eifel towards Aremberg. The Fürstin-Margaretha Trail, circular hiking trail no. 5 and the Waldretter Trail are connected with the chapel.

Local Meeting Places

The Wershofen recreational area, with its youth campsite, is a public municipal facility for extracurricular youth education. In addition to the youth campsite, a barbecue hut can be rented; it is available for public rental and offers indoor seating for approximately 50 to 80 people. The barbecue hut has a bar area, two refrigerators, a wood-burning stove and an outdoor fire pit.
