St. Maximin is described as a Baroque hall church dating from 1762. The Catholic parish church of St. Maximin was built in 1762 on land provided by the Duke of Arenberg. Other architectural features include the Hakenhof at Ahrtalstraße 25, a plastered farmhouse from the mid-18th century with a half-timbered barn, as well as the farm complex at Ahrtalstraße 44. It comprises a building with a half-hipped roof dating from 1806 and adjoining barns.

The surrounding area of Antweiler also contains a wayside shrine with a relief dating from the 18th century. Antweiler was first recorded in 975 under the name “Ametwilere” in a document from the Trier Abbey of St. Maximin. The village belonged to the County or Duchy of Arenberg; before 1500, the counts granted a concession for the Antweiler ironworks.
