Hiking and Nature
The Dörferblick Loop is a 14-kilometre, moderately difficult circular hiking route around Pomster and Barweiler. It includes 338 metres of ascent and descent and leads through stream valleys, wooded areas, meadows and ridgelines within the Obere Ahr-Hocheifel nature project.
Culture
Through Pomster, the Dörferblick Loop passes a small historic chapel as well as traditional quarry-stone and half-timbered houses.
The ruins of Neu Blankenheim are located near Pomster. The surrounding area of Pomster also includes the ruins of Dollendorf, Hohe Warte, Hochkelberg, Bremelchen and Ernstberg.
Further afield in the region around Pomster are Löwenburg and Bürresheim Castle.
Pomster is served by bus route 884, which connects the village with Adenau, Wiesemscheid, Barweiler, Wirft, Kirmutscheid, Hoffeld and Nohn. The Dörferblick Loop also has a trail access point in Pomster.
