Georgsdorf is home to the Georgsdorf windmill, a gallery Dutch windmill built in 1875. The building is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. The mill complex also includes the miller's house, built in 1904, with a photo exhibition about canal shipping on the left bank of the Ems. Georgsdorf is located in Lower Saxony, Germany, in the wider regional context of Western Europe.
The half-timbered barn at the mill complex serves as an exhibition space for historical tools and machinery. Outside regular opening hours, the windmill can be visited by prior telephone arrangement. Its construction originated with an association of 12 local farmers, who built it for around 6,500 thalers. The Old Parsonage, built in 1866, is the oldest building in Georgsdorf.
The Georgsdorfer Moor nature reserve is a remnant of the former raised bogs of the Bourtanger Moor. It is managed in such a way that open bog areas, wet heathlands, small bodies of water, bog lakes, scrubland, and bog woodlands are preserved or restored.
Buckwheat flour from the mill is sold at the mill and at the neighboring Grenzlandmarkt market. The traditional buckwheat dish Bookweiten-Jan Hinnerk can be served in the miller's house by prior order. Original buckwheat pancakes are described as a regional specialty.
Bauerngolf at TSV Georgsdorf can be played regardless of age or athletic ability. The course uses a large plastic ball and a thick wooden club and has ten holes. Package deals can be arranged for groups of at least 12 people.
