Itterbeck combines marked trails, a distinctive heath landscape, and cultural and leisure attractions. Specific destinations include the Itterbeck Heath, the Countryside Experience Route II, the Itterbeck outdoor swimming pool, and the local heritage farm.
The Itterbeck Heath lies northwest of Itterbeck. It has been protected as a nature reserve since August 23, 2007, and is one of the largest contiguous sandy heath areas in southwestern Lower Saxony. The landscape is characterized by dunes and shrub moraines; it contains dwarf-shrub heath, juniper heath, and dry grassland. Hiking trails run along the Itterbeck Heath. The Egger Giant, a large erratic boulder from the last Ice Age, is also located there.
The Countryside Experience Route II runs through the forest between Uelsen and Itterbeck, passing the source of the Itter, the village of Itterbeck, and the Itterbeck Heath. It also passes through the former Wilsum Moor and the former Wielen Moor.
The Grafschafter Trail Search Route around Itterbeck is marked and designated as family-friendly. Itterbeck outdoor swimming pool has a 11-by-18-meter outdoor pool divided into a swimming area and a non-swimming area. The pool grounds also include a sunbathing lawn as well as facilities for ball games and table tennis.
Itterbeck is home to the local heritage farm, an open-air museum at Schoolstege 5. During the museum season, it also includes a café.
The Evangelical Reformed Chapel in Egge is located about 3 km from Itterbeck and was ceremonially inaugurated on June 4, 1903.
