Vicq-Exemplet: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Vicq-Exemplet lies on the banks of the Sinaise, on the border between the Indre and Cher departments. In the town centre is the Atelier Poterie Merle-Rémond, a ceramics studio with a shop offering handmade one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces. In summer, in July and August, introductory ceramics courses for adults and children aged 8 and over are held there by appointment.

Nature

La plaine de Vic is a relatively flat landscape of large-scale arable farming, interspersed with small hills. There is no dense network of hedgerows; only individual trees and some groups of trees remain. Around Vicq-Exemplet, the Chemin des Potiers opens up a spacious, bright landscape with a mosaic-like succession of cereal fields. The Chemin des Potiers circular hiking trail is around six kilometres long and leads through the landscape around Vicq-Exemplet.

As part of the Kavélo programme, up to five electric bicycles can be rented in the municipality of Vicq-Exemplet at the Bar-Restaurant La Forge de Vicq.

History

The historic sites of Abbaye Bois-d'Habert, Abbaye des Pierres, Abbaye Notre-Dame de Varennes and Abbaye de Noirlac are located in the wider region around Vicq-Exemplet.

Food and drink

Épi’Toué is a mobile crêperie that has been open since August 2024. It offers savoury galettes and sweet crêpes.
