The Église du prieuré Saint-Pierre in Bommiers was classified as a historic monument by decree on 16 February 1921. The church has a Latin cross floor plan, as well as a Romanesque choir, a Romanesque nave and a Romanesque transept. The nave also features construction phases from the 15th and 18th centuries.

In Berry, the Château-fort de Bommiers is considered the most imposing fortress. Its ruins extend across a 4-hectare park. The Château de Bommiers was a significant example of medieval castle architecture in Berry. It stood in a marshland, was surrounded by several branches of the Thonaise and protected by a large pond.

Nature and Trails

The Sources de la Théols is a 43-hectare Espace Naturel Sensible extending across Ambrault and Bommiers. The natural area around the Sources de la Théols includes forests, meadows and springs, as well as the two rivers Théols and Thonaise. At the springs of the Théols, three trails offer the opportunity to explore the unusual historical character of this natural area.

The Sentier des Minimes in the commune of Bommiers is 2.39 kilometres long. The Sentier de la source de la Théols runs through Ambrault and Bommiers and is 2.83 kilometres long.

Sightseeing

For visits to the Église Saint-Pierre, visitors can collect the keys from the town hall during opening hours. The privately owned and inhabited Château-fort de Bommiers can be visited as part of guided tours with commentary.
