Mézières-en-Drouais: Holiday apartments and houses
The 130-hectare Plan d’eau de Mézières-Écluzelles extends partly across the municipalities of Écluzelles and Mézières-en-Drouais.
Water and nature
At the Plan d’eau de Mézières-Écluzelles, the sailing school enables a broad public to enjoy nautical activities while providing professional supervision. At the Base nautique de l'Agglo du Pays de Dreux, you can go paddleboarding.
Nature observation also has a dedicated place here: at the Plan d’eau de Mézières-Écluzelles, an observation stand was set up in front of one of France’s few stationary grey heron colonies, allowing visitors to observe the birds without disturbing them.
Culture and history
The Église Saint-Martin was classified in its entirety as a Monument historique by decree of 4 March 2013. It may date from the early 12th century and preserves a painted depiction on the rear of the western portal, presumably showing a danse macabre and possibly dating from around 1500.
The Temple protestant de Marsauceux, together with the adjacent grounds of the former Huguenot cemetery, was listed in its entirety as a Monument historique at the end of 2022. It was built in 1821 in the hamlet of Marsauceux in Mézières-en-Drouais; the Reformed parish associated with it was founded in 1562.
