Feux is part of the natural landscape of the Champagne berrichonne, which is characterized here by open farmland. The limestone plateau of Feux is cut through by two valleys; their terrain is suitable for livestock farming.

In the wider region around Feux lies the Île de Cosne island. Also located there are the Motte d'Humbligny ou le Chaillou hill, the Montagne des Marnes hill and the Forêt de Beaujeu hill.

Culture and History

The history of the village dates back to the Middle Ages: at that time, Feux had 17 hamlets or farms and four watermills. The Grand Étang de la Forge is located in the northeast of the municipality of Feux. It bears witness to metallurgical activity carried out at an unspecified time and was drained at the beginning of the 19th century. The Château de Grimonville has been documented since the 16th century.

Historical buildings can also be found in the immediate and wider surroundings. The historic site of Abbaye de Chalivoy is located near Feux. The surrounding area is also home to the Abbaye cistercienne de Notre-Dame monastery, the Château de Gérigny castle and the Prieuré Notre-Dame priory.

Mountain Biking and Walking

Mountain bike circuit no. 32, “Les Bois de Feux”, is 36 km long, passes through Feux and Vinon, and starts in Veaugues. The “Les Bois de Feux” mountain bike route combines easy-to-ride and technical sections with peaceful stretches through the forest.
