Culture and history

The traditional Fête des Chieuves in Couy was announced for 15 and 16 August 2026 as its 61st edition. Several historical details can be found in the Église Saint-Martin: The church dates from the 12th century and was extensively remodelled in the 15th century. It has a round apse, while the choir is illuminated by large windows. A scallop shell is featured on the baptismal font.

The Abbaye de Fontmorigny is located in the vicinity of Couy. The wider surrounding region also includes the Château de Gérigny castle, the Cholet ruins and the historic site of the Abbaye de Chalivoy.

Landscape and hiking

The hills Motte d'Humbligny ou le Chaillou, Bois d'Humbligny, Forêt de Beaujeu and Montagne des Marnes are located in the wider surrounding region of Couy. The Randonnée Semi-nocturne passes through the Berry countryside and offers the opportunity to discover the surrounding landscapes. Two marked routes of 7 km and 11 km, starting at the village hall in Couy, were planned for this hike; participation with leashed dogs was also planned.
