Sainte-Solange: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Église Sainte-Solange brings together several clearly dated testimonies to the history of the village. The bell tower was classified as a historic monument by a decree dated October 22, 1913. The vestibule with tower dates from the 12th century; the stone spire was replaced by a wooden structure in 1785. The apses of the chapel were also restored at a cost of 50,000 euros in order to preserve a defining element of Sainte-Solange’s religious heritage.

Culture

The restored washhouse is also part of the village’s collective memory. It serves as a place of remembrance and convivial gatherings.

Pilgrimage and Events

The pilgrimage to Sainte-Solange continues to be celebrated on Whit Monday; during the procession, the saint’s reliquary is carried. During the pilgrimage celebrated in 2026, a procession led the pilgrims to the Chapelle du Martyre. After the Mass of the Sainte-Solange pilgrimage, a procession led to the Fontaine in 2026.

The Ronde Solangeoise is an annual gathering associated with Sainte-Solange for enthusiasts of historic vehicles of all makes. It generally includes a morning drive following a roadbook, lunch, and a surprise visit in the vicinity of Sainte-Solange.

Cycling

Cycling is also connected with local activities: the Cyclo Club Ste Solange welcomes electric bicycles on its rides. The club regularly organizes group rides two to three times a week, starting at the Ancienne Poste car park.

Places and Streetscape

At the exit of Sainte-Solange, the Chapelle du Martyre is located on the Ouatier. In September 2025, speed cushions were installed on the Route de Saint-Germain-du-Puy to reduce vehicle speeds and improve the safety of residents, cyclists, and pedestrians.
