Saint-Priest-la-Marche: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Indre rises in Saint-Priest-la-Marche and flows through the municipality for two kilometres. It winds its way to the local spot known as “les planches”, where it meets the “brochet”.

Nature

Saint-Priest-la-Marche has a very hilly topography. Its rocky terrain forms one of the last foothills of the Massif Central.

Hiking

The Chemin de la Source is a visitor trail established by the tourist office of the Communauté de communes Berry Grand Sud. The source of the Indre is located at the hamlet of Beddes in Saint-Priest-la-Marche.

The La Source de l’Indre circular hiking trail is 11.87 kilometres long, takes around three hours and has a moderate difficulty level. It begins at the market hall, follows the GRP des Maîtres Sonneurs for part of the way and leads to the source at the hamlet of Beddes. The trail passes through a chestnut landscape before continuing along paths bordered by forests. The Maîtres Sonneurs trail can also be followed in Saint-Priest-la-Marche.

Cycling

The Cyclo Bohème V49 is a fully signposted cycling route that passes through Saint-Priest-la-Marche. The Cyclo Bohème follows the course of the Indre through Touraine and Berry to the edge of the Creuse.

Culture and Festivals

The choir of the church of Saint-Priest-la-Marche is vaulted over two bays with prismatic ribs and is illuminated by an eastern window with three-lobed tracery. Inside the church, a 1609 tombstone features a coat of arms in relief with three lions, a helmet and a Greek cross.

The Autumn Delights Festival includes apple pressing and roasted chestnuts. The Saint-Blaise Festival takes place on the last Saturday in January.
