Tendron: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Tendron is an elongated settlement that was laid out around two springs. Fragments of Roman roof tiles, fragments of stucco and traces of ancient hydraulic installations were discovered in the Tendron valley.

History

The covered washhouse from the 19th century stands in a meadow. Its wooden framework is supported by ten wooden pillars and covered with a slate roof. The washhouse is fed by the spring of the Tendron stream.

During work carried out between 1882 and 1885 or 1887, the main building of the Château de Fontenay was preserved and flanked by two wings. The residential building of the Château de Fontenay was built on wooden piles because the site was marshy. The pond created in front of the Château de Fontenay is fed by the Grévin spring.

The former Church of the Nativity of Our Lady in Tendron was built in the 11th century and stood next to the fountain in the centre of Tendron.

Trails and Landscape

The official Nérondes–Ignol–Tendron hiking trail is 14 kilometres long.

At the Verger des Murailles in Tendron, visitors can walk between rows of fruit trees and, depending on the season, pick fruit directly in the orchard. Seasonal fruits include apples, cherries and currants.
