Theix: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-la-Blanche was founded in 1239 and rebuilt in 1536. It was listed as a historic monument by decree dated 15 June 1925.

The Chapelle Saint-Michel de Brangolo was built from granite in the mid-16th century. A series of frescoes depicting the Stations of the Cross was discovered in the chapel in 1987. Four Gallic stelae beside the Chapelle Saint-Michel de Brangolo point to the Christianisation of a formerly pagan site.

The Chapelle Saint-Joseph in Calzac Église dates from the early 17th century. Its west window and bell tower were rebuilt in the 18th century; the complex also includes a fountain and a washhouse.

The Chapelle Sainte-Barbe dates from the late 16th or early 17th century. Its gable features a pointed-arch window decorated with stained glass.

The Château du Plessis-Josso is a 16th-century château and one of the rare examples to have preserved its outer enclosure. The château is partially protected as a historic monument.

Saint-Léonard is mentioned as a priory in the 15th century. The Saint-Léonard priory continued to exist until the French Revolution.

The Moulin du Clérigo was dependent on the lordship of Clérigo, which was acquired by the Carmelite nuns of Vannes in 1690. The Moulin du Clérigo is a watermill with a basic structure dating from the 16th or 17th century; the building was raised in 1809.

The Fontaine Sainte-Barbe is located 200 metres from the Chapelle Sainte-Barbe, on the Bougat stream.

In the municipality of Theix-Noyalo, the Parc de loisirs de Brural comprises seven hectares of landscaped grounds and extends to a large body of freshwater.

In the municipality of Theix-Noyalo, the Moulin à marée de Noyalo lies between an arm of the Gulf of Morbihan and the Étang de Noyalo. The fully reconstructed Moulin à marée de Noyalo and its pond offer opportunities within the municipality of Theix-Noyalo to explain the concept of a tidal mill.

The Manoir du Plessis-Josso can be visited in summer and during the European Heritage Days as part of self-guided tours.
