Nature and Trails

Lac au Duc covers 250 hectares and is located in Ploërmel, Taupont and Loyat. A hiking trail approximately 15 km long runs around the lake. The 3 km-long Circuit des Hortensias also runs along Lac au Duc; it is a walking trail dedicated to hydrangeas.

The Circuit des chapelles (No. 19) is a 13 km hiking route with a walking time of 3 hours and 30 minutes. It begins at Taupont church square and leads to the Chapelle de Quelneuc.

Culture and History

The church dedicated to Saint Golven features architecture dating from the 12th to the 17th century. The Church of Saint-Golven has a remarkable 16th-century portal in the Flamboyant Gothic style.

The Chapelle St Mathurin et St Gildas de Quelneuc is considered the oldest chapel in the municipality; it dates from the 13th or 14th century. The Jardin de la cour Pic-vert contains medicinal aromatic plants.

Taupont is located five minutes north of Ploërmel.
