Séné: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Séné has 47 kilometres of coastline with panoramic views over the Gulf of Morbihan. The coastline includes sandy beaches and mudflats stretching from Pointe de Montsarrac via Pointe du Bill to Port-Anna.

Getting around

More than 70 kilometres of paths cross the municipality of Séné. The coastal and rural paths offer walkers, hikers and mountain bikers views of bays, marshland, mudflats and the nearby islands of Boëde and Boëdic, as well as several places and sights in the municipality. Cycle paths cross Séné from north to south.

Horse-riding excursions are offered in Séné between the nature reserve and the Gulf of Morbihan with Patricia from the Écurie des 3 Tilleuls riding centre.

Nature

The fee-paying visitor area of the Marais de Séné Nature Reserve includes two paths and six observation points over four kilometres. The free visitor area of the Marais de Séné Nature Reserve includes two paths, one observation point and two observation platforms over 4.5 kilometres.

The Nature Centre of the nature reserve has a permanent exhibition, a screening room and an exhibition room for photographs.

Culture

Séné’s heritage programme includes four educational trails with a total of 34 information panels. The cultural trail on the Langle peninsula introduces local customs, stories about ancient stones, the history of place names, changes in the landscape, anecdotes and legends. The “Entre villages et marais” cultural trail in Séné includes 11 information panels and was created in 2019.

Port-Anna is the last still-active fishing harbour in the Gulf of Morbihan. Around ten boats practise small-scale fishing daily in Port-Anna.

The Fête des Voiles Rouges festival has been held every two years since 1985 as a gathering of historic sailing ships, alternating with the Semaine du Golfe. The Chapelle Sainte-Anne de Bellevue is regularly open to the public at Christmas, during the European Heritage Days and in summer.

Water

Year-round boat services to Île d’Arz operate from the Barrarac’h landing stage. Discovery tours on one of the three Sinagots in the Gulf of Morbihan depart from the pier at Port-Anna.

The water sports centre in Séné offers activities for children and adults, courses, private lessons, equipment hire, as well as excursions and boat trips. The water sports centre at Pointe du Bill offers catamaran, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding activities.
