The Circuit des Landes de Béganne runs through the surrounding area. Information panels explore the history of the Bégawatt community wind farm; the route also includes a viewpoint overlooking La Vallée du Bled.

Also nearby, three signposted educational trails begin at La Grée des Rosaies, about 2 km from the center of Saint-Gorgon.

Culture and History

The church of Saint-Gorgon contains a tombstone bearing the coats of arms of La Haye and Couessin, the lords of Champ-Mahé. An Armorican stele dating from around 500 BC stands in the church square.

The Manoir du Champ-Mahé dates from the 18th century and was an active center of the Chouannerie. Republican reports describe Champ-Mahé as the headquarters and place of residence of the Chouans.

Religious Heritage

Saint Louis is the second patron saint of Saint-Gorgon. The Fontaine de Saint Louis in Saint-Gorgon is associated with the search for remedies for headaches.

Historically, Champ-Mahé has been associated with an inn where pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago stopped.
