Treffléan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Treffléan, paths lead to chapels, springs and traces of history. The Notre-Dame-de-Cran Chapel preserves wall paintings from the late 15th or early 16th century. It has been classified as a historic monument since 3 October 1962.

Chapels and History

The Chapel of Bizole also bears several layers of history: it was rebuilt in the 16th century and altered in the 17th century. A statue of Saint John stands above its portal. The chapel grounds include Gallic funerary stelae known as lechs. Summer exhibitions were held in the Chapel of Bizole. In the village itself, the Church of Saint-Léon dates from the 16th century and was restored in 1840.

Paths and Landscape

The western hiking trail can be explored via the Chemin des Aravis and passes the manor house and pond of Randrecart. The eastern hiking trail leads to the grounds of the Chapel of Cran, passing the Sainte-Apolline spring and several monolithic calvaries.

The Chemin de Cran runs along the municipal boundary between Sulniac and Treffléan. At 5.2 kilometres, it is an easy circular hiking trail. In clear weather, the view from there extends as far as the Gulf of Morbihan. The circular trail to the Chapel of Bizole also offers a distant view of the Gulf of Morbihan.

Culture and Landscape

Château de Meudon, a château, is located in the area around Treffléan. Largoet Castle is a historic site in the nearby area. Joliette Tower and Prison Gate are historic sites in the area around Treffléan.

Plage de Montsarrac and plage de la Villeneuve are beaches in the area around Treffléan. Plage de Kerbilouet and Plage de Brouhel are beaches in the wider regional area around Treffléan.

Springs and Traces of History

The Sainte-Julitte spring dates from the 17th century, while the spring of Cran dates from the 18th century. The Randrecart mill dates from the 17th century. Treffléan also has a spring dating from the 17th century.
