Landévant: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Locmaria in Landévant combines religious history with its location: the pilgrimage site and its position on the road to Sainte-Anne-d’Auray contributed to its renown. Three hiking trails lead through the village, past the château, through the countryside and forest, and along the Ria d’Étel.

Culture

The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Locmaria is the oldest religious building in Landévant and is listed as a Monument historique. The restoration carried out from 2007 onwards brought to light and restored the polychromy of the roof structure in the choir and of the arches of the transept.

The Moulin de la Demi-Ville is the last tidal mill on the Étel River and has been documented since the 16th century. It was powered both by the tides and by the stream, which filled a basin and drove a vertical undershot water wheel. The present-day Église Saint-Martin was built in 1834 and contains numerous reused sculptures from the former church.

The Chapelle Saint-Nicolas was rebuilt in 1895 using structural elements from an older 16th-century building. The Chapelle Saint-Laurent preserves a very old opening in its eastern end wall. The Chapelle Sainte-Brigitte lies in an isolated location below the national road, amid well-maintained deciduous woodland; next to it is a devotional spring that may date from the 18th century. The Pont de Sainte-Brigitte is a single-arch stone bridge built beneath the embankment of the RN 165.

Trails and Countryside

The Circuit du Listoir is classified as easy. The Circuit de Lannouan is an easy circular trail approximately 4 km long. The Pointe du Listoir is considered the birthplace of the Étel River.

Local Life

The small market in Landévant is a market for local producers and offers fruit, vegetables, bread, dairy products and fish.

Experiences

La Cité du Caramel Carabreizh® in Landévant offers a visit explaining the artisanal production of salted-butter caramel. The visit lasts approximately 30 minutes. La Cité du Caramel Carabreizh® can be reached directly via the RN 165 at exit 37 and is a five-minute walk from a TER station.

Les Pâturettes de Bodavel offers farm tours by appointment, with activities that vary according to the season, as well as an on-site snack featuring products from the farm. Activities may include milking goats, accompanying the goats to pasture and feeding the goats.
