Peillac: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Chemin de Ronde hiking trail leads from Peillac along shady paths to the Pont d’Oust. Between waterways, nature-oriented sites and distinctive cultural venues, the town reveals itself in a variety of ways.

Nature and trails

The Canal de Nantes à Brest passes through Peillac at the Pont d’Oust station. Its towpath is accessible to walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The fishing area of the AAPPMA Pêches Loisirs de l’Oust includes a designated fishing spot.

The Site de la Dutière includes an educational pond in a wetland, providing an opportunity to observe a diverse range of wildlife and plant life. The site also includes a footpath with a wooden boardwalk, a picnic table and some parking spaces; part of the site is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Leisure

The Site de loisirs du Pont d’Oust leisure complex includes a municipal campsite, a swimming pool, an interpretive mini-golf course, a boules court and a children’s playground. Parc du Pommier has picnic tables, benches, a table tennis table, play equipment for young children and an insect hotel.

Culture

Eight protected objects are recorded for the Église Saint-Pierre in Peillac. The 16th-century building is in the shape of a Latin cross; the sanctuary faces east and stands on a small rise enclosed by a stone wall. The church is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. through the south door for prayer and visits.

Five protected objects are recorded for the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Liesse in Peillac.

Getting around

The Boucle vélo de Peillac No. 13 is a 32 km cycling route starting in Peillac. It can be divided into two family-friendly circular routes of 16 km each; one of the sections runs along the Canal de Nantes à Brest.

Peillac can be reached by boat via the Pont d’Oust nautical station. By bicycle, access is via the Vélodyssée, also known as EV1.

The Fête des Fruits d’Automne takes place in Peillac on the third weekend of October. It includes exhibitions, workshops, concerts, performances and conferences.

History and crafts

The Moulin de Guéveneux is a former watermill built on the Arz, with a weaver’s workshop. Aux Fils de l’Arz is the workshop of weaver Bruno Lesteven at the Moulin de Gueveneux in Peillac. Weaving courses, events and demonstrations for adults and children are offered there. For visits, the key can be requested from Madame Lebré in the village.
