Bieuzy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Bieuzy reveals itself through its landscapes, paths and historic sites. Alongside tangible traces of history, local traditions also play a role.

Landscape and paths

The Landes du Crano are designated as a ZNIEFF (Natural Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest). Hiking trails, including the GR, and mountain bike routes cross the Landes du Crano. The Castennec viewpoint offers a view over the Blavet Valley.

History and culture

The Chapelle de la Trinité in Castennec was built in the second half of the 15th century under the joint patronage of the Rimaison and Rohan families. Together with its Fontaine, it is listed as a historic monument; the listing was made by decree dated 24 June 2020.

The Chapelle Saint-Gildas on the Blavet is considered to be the hermitage of Saint Gildas and Saint Bieuzy. The Chapelle Saint-Gildas was built before the cave that is regarded as the 6th-century hermitage of Saint Gildas. A car park is available 200 metres from the chapel for access to the Chapelle Saint-Gildas. At the Chapelle Saint-Gildas, visitors can see a sun-ringing stone which, according to tradition, Saint Gildas used to call his followers.

The Circuit de Castennec begins at the Église de Bieuzy. The Église de Bieuzy has stained-glass windows depicting the life of Christ and is classified as a historic monument. The Église Notre-Dame du Bon Voyage in Bieuzy dates from the 16th century. The Fontaine de Bieuzy is associated with the legend of Saint Bieuzy, who is credited with being able to cure rabies and migraines.
