Nostang: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nostang has 11 km of shoreline along the Ria d’Étel. The salt marshes are particularly prominent in the Anse du Cosquer and southwest of the Pointe du Gouarde. Numerous areas of woodland, predominantly maritime pine, as well as deciduous forests on the slopes of the valleys shape the area.

Landscape and Trails

The circular trail “Découvrir Nostang, de la Ria d’Étel à Saint-Ernan” is marked with green signs, is approximately 4 km long, and starts at the car park opposite the municipal workshop. It leads along wooded paths and coastal trails.

The Nostang chapter of “L’Anneau de Waroch” is entitled “L’Anneau de Pouvoir” and is 5 km long. The trail starts at the car park behind the church of Nostang.

In the area covering the five municipalities of the CCBBO, hiking trails run along the sea, beside the ria, and through woodland areas.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul is a Latin-cross-shaped building and was rebuilt between 1681 and 1686. Its spire was hit by a German shell on 17 January 1945.

The complex at the spring of Kergo includes a Neolithic polishing stone, an ancient stele, a spring, and a washhouse. The Chapel of Saint-Symphorien and Saint-Maurice was built in the 16th century.

The high nave of Locmaria Chapel is entirely decorated with 15th-century paintings depicting figures against an arabesque background. From 1681 to 1685, parish services were held there while the new church of Nostang was being built.

The south façade of Notre-Dame-de-Légevin Chapel features a Renaissance door leading to the nave. The chapel was a pilgrimage centre; Renaissance and Gothic styles coexist within it.

The Chapel of Saint-Bieuzy, also known as Saint-Georges, preserves a 15th-century Flamboyant Gothic tracery window.
