Landaul: Holiday apartments and houses

In Landaul, the Chapelle Saint-Maurille in Langombrac’h stands at a very old site of worship, as indicated by an Iron Age stele in front of the chapel, a Carolingian sarcophagus preserved inside the chapel, and an associated early medieval grave stele. The present-day building was apparently rebuilt in the 17th century; one window may bear the year 1659. The chapel stands on a hill and overlooks the surrounding countryside.

Culture and history

The Chapelle Saint-Michel de Branzého was built on a raised rocky promontory at the junction of a Roman branch road and presumably replaced a pre-Christian place of worship. It contains an old statue of Saint Michael defeating the dragon, as well as a statue of Saint Anne; every year, an association holds the Pardon there on the last weekend of September.

Town centre and transport

In the centre of Landaul, “La clé de Bon-Secours” is located at the Church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine – Saint-Théleau. This church dates from the 15th century and was created in the 19th century by merging the former Church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine with the Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours chapel. “La clé de Bon-Secours” is an investigation and observation game about the churches and chapels of Landaul. Landaul has SNCF passenger services.

Nature

The Sentier côtier de Landaul passes the Moulin de la Demi-ville and runs through the protected Natura 2000 area of the Ria d’Etel. It may only be accessed via the designated path.

Gardens and exercise

The gardens of Kerambar’h comprise an orchard, a vegetable garden, a liturgical garden, a chapter garden and a formal pleasure garden. They are open exclusively to groups of at least eight people and by prior reservation; dates and opening hours should be checked before visiting.

The Parcours sportif de Landaul starts in the village of Branzého in Landaul and is a 1.6-kilometre fitness trail. It includes, among other things, ladders, a climbing wall, exercise bars and jumping stations.
