Saint-Germain-En-Coglès: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Germain-en-Coglès begins with a piece of architectural history: the base of the crossing tower and the choir of the parish church of Saint-Germain-d’Auxerre date from the 15th century. The parish church was rebuilt between 1850 and 1853.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Saint-Jacques was built in 1573. The Fontaine des Agonissants is associated with a pilgrimage. A guided tour of Saint-Germain-en-Coglès covers approximately 2.5 km and lasts around two hours.

Paths and Landscape

The Balade à pas contés is an easy 4 km circular route that begins at the Médiathèque and takes 45 minutes to one hour. The Boucle des Écrivains follows in the footsteps of Jean Guéhenno, Balzac and Chateaubriand. The de Bagué circular route is a 15 km, four-hour hike through bocage landscapes, heathland and valleys.

Nature in the Town Centre

The Jardin de l’eau is an easily accessible 7-hectare park in the town centre. It includes wetlands with willow stands, reed beds, wet meadows and educational ponds. Natural areas are preserved to protect the fauna and flora.

Local Character

The Ferme du Bas Val opens its farm bakery to the public on Fridays and offers a wide selection of sourdough breads baked in a wood-fired oven.
