Saint-Rémy-Du-Plain: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The 8.0 km-long Chemin des Crêtes begins in Saint-Rémy-du-Plain, follows former paths used for attending church and smuggling, and features five designated points of interest. Along the way, it offers views of the green bocage landscape and the neighbouring villages of Bazouges-la-Pérouse, La Fontenelle, Antrain and Tremblay.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Rémy in Saint-Rémy-du-Plain was built between 1878 and 1880 from local granite and opened for worship in November 1880. Its floor plan is shaped like a Latin cross. The statue “Christ en croix” is located in the southern wall area of the nave.

The Saint-Rémy-du-Plain chalice is one of the few surviving Upper Breton examples of the so-called “à flammes” model.

The Monument de Touchasse commemorates eight Maquisards from Broualan who were tortured and executed there by the militia on 7 July 1944.

A restored old windmill stands on Rue du Moulin à Vent, where the Chemin des Crêtes ends. Its lintel bears the inscription “FP Pierre Bourget JVSF 1744”. According to oral tradition, the old windmill was in operation until around 1850.
