Baguer-Morvan: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Baguer-Morvan combines traces of history with a landscape that can be explored along the Circuit du Clos Chapelle circular trail and through the designated Le Guyoult wetland. Between the church, manor houses, chapel remains and regional attractions, the town and its surroundings present a diverse picture.

History

The parish church of Saint-Pierre, Saint-Paul in Baguer-Morvan is at the heart of the town’s history. It was first mentioned in 1219 and rebuilt in the third quarter of the 19th century by the architect Hawke. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross.

The village of Baguer-Morvan also preserves several remains from the 16th and 18th centuries. Château d’Assis was built in the mid-19th century on the site of an earlier manor house dating from the 14th to the 16th century. Today’s Château d’Assis also preserves remains of a former chapel from the 15th century.

The Malouinière Launay Blot was built in the 1730s on the remains of a 16th-century manor house. The coats of arms of the Du Han family are still engraved at the base of the Calvaire du Bois au Coq.

Nature

The Circuit du Clos Chapelle circular trail passes through the Marais Noir. Its route also includes the village of Carfantin and the Fontaine de Saint-Samson.

Le Guyoult is designated as an 18-hectare wetland.

The Cathédrale Saint-Samson de Dol-de-Bretagne church is located in the vicinity of Baguer-Morvan. The historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Vieuville is located near Baguer-Morvan.

In the wider regional surroundings of Baguer-Morvan are the Château de la Ville Huchet castle, Plage Verger beach, the historic site of St. Catherine Tower, Plage de l'Éventail beach, Mont-Saint-Michel beach and Plage du Mole beach.
