Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The remains of the Château de Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier were listed as a historic monument in February 2026. The restored château reopened to visitors on 1 July 2026. An educational discovery trail at the château explores the history of the site and its natural diversity.
Culture and History
Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier acquired fortified town walls in the 14th century. The present Église paroissiale Saint-Aubin was rebuilt between 1899 and 1902 according to plans by Henri Mellet, is designed in the Romanesque-Byzantine style, and was blessed on 21 December 1902.
The stained-glass windows of the Chapelle Saint-Denis were created in 1894 by the Lecomte et Colin workshop from Rennes. The new Chapelle Saint-Denis in Bel Air was probably built a few years later, at the end of the 19th century, in the Neo-Gothic style. In the Bois d’Uzel stands the “Mémorial aux Bretons” stele, commemorating the battle in question.
Discover the Town
The 800 Years Photo Trail presents photographic panels at four locations in Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier throughout the year. At the Étang de Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier, the lake can be circumnavigated on designated paths on foot or by bicycle.
Gardens and Nature
The Jardin Médiéval is located on the site of a former kitchen garden that was transformed into a medieval-inspired garden. Local plant species are displayed there, which were formerly cultivated for medicinal, culinary, or decorative purposes.
The Parc du château is part of an area designated as an Espace Naturel Sensible. The park is home to a service tree, which is considered rare in the Ille-et-Vilaine département.
