Forest and trails

The Fougères Forest covers 1,500 hectares and consists mainly of beech and oak trees. The Circuit du Cordon des Druides is one of eight signposted walking trails in the Fougères Forest. The Circuit du tour de l'étang de Chênedet is an easy 1.8-kilometre walk and offers an accessible stroll for everyone starting from the Chênedet leisure centre.

Organised driven hunts are permitted in the Forêt domaniale de Fougères from October to February; visitors should consult the calendar.

Culture and history

The Cordon des Druides is a series of 50 quartzite menhirs in the Fougères Forest, extending over 300 metres. Also located in the Fougères Forest is the Pierre Courcoulée, a Neolithic dolmen. The Pierre du Trésor is a megalith in the Fougères Forest that may be a Neolithic dolmen.

The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul displays architectural features ranging from the Romanesque style in the nave to flamboyant Gothic forms. Les Celliers de Landéan are an underground structure dating from the 12th century. They comprise a vaulted room measuring 15 × 6 metres with eleven round-arch arcades.

Activities

L’Accrobrancherie has seven difficulty levels and two zip lines that cross the pond. The Base de loisirs de Chênedet offers, among other activities, canoeing and kayaking.
