Baguer-Pican: Holiday Apartments and Houses
Trails and Landscapes
In Baguer-Pican, the Circuit de la Mancelière circular trail begins at the car park by the church. The easy walking route is 11.1 km long and has an estimated duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes. It partly follows a Roman road and crosses several wetlands that are considered ecological treasures. Choiseul is a designated point of interest along the trail; a monument there commemorates the 15,000 victims of the Battle of Dol-de-Bretagne.
Culture and History
La Croix Badet is a liturgical cross erected in 1955 to bless the fields. The Manoir de la Mancellière was built around 1500. The chapel of the Manoir de la Mancellière may have been rebuilt after 1812, reusing the western portal.
The Circuit de la Mancelière circular trail leads to the Chapelle Saint-Gilles near La Mancelière. The present-day Chapelle Saint-Gilles is the third chapel; it was rebuilt in 1790. On Saint Gilles' Day, 1 September, children were brought to the Chapelle Saint-Gilles to be blessed for protection from fear.
The church of Saint-Martin houses the painting “Mise au tombeau”, a copy of José de Ribera's “La Déposition du Christ”; it was donated by the state in 1876.
