Quédillac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Quédillac can be discovered through its stone monuments and sacred heritage. The Église Saint-Pierre de Quédillac houses a double, carved granite baptismal font with a medieval inscription and the year 1520.

Culture and History

The entrance portal of the Église Saint-Pierre de Quédillac also preserves visible traces of the past: gravestones of Amice de Quédillac and Mathieu de Quédillac can be seen there. At the church, the base of the south wall of the nave and two Flamboyant-style windows bear witness to the Romanesque period; it was completely restored in the 15th century.

The sacred history of the village also includes the Chapelle de la Villée. It was inaugurated on 21 October 1641 and dedicated to Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel. The Manoir de La Heuzelais and the Manoir de Ranléon add a seigneurial touch: La Heuzelais was originally surrounded by rectangular moats, and its owners held the seigneurial high court. Ranléon is a granite manor house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.

A dovecote dating from 1783 is one of the few surviving dovecotes in the area. In the wider region around Quédillac, there are also the ancient sites of La fontaine de Jouvence, Tombeau de Merlin and Le Chêne de Guillotin, as well as the historic site of Abbaye Saint-Jacques.

A hiking trail in Quédillac runs along the Étang de Quédillac and follows paths through a natural environment.
