In Melesse, the Chemin de la biodiversité passes through the municipality’s various landscapes. The Sentiers et Patrimoine offering in Melesse includes this trail and five other accessible, easy walking loops. The trail included in it is a walking loop approximately 8 km long. There are 15 themed information boards along the route; it also presents Melesse’s biodiversity with the help of educational panels. Along the Sentiers et Patrimoine routes, fact sheets created in Melesse provide information about the cultural and natural attractions that can be observed there.

Nature and landscape

Melesse’s natural heritage is shaped by the Canal d’Ille et Rance. Parc du Quincampoix covers 15 hectares and features a pond where fishing is possible. Prés bas des Guimondières is a three-hectare area classified as a wetland at the confluence of two streams. A small path and two educational information points invite visitors to explore this area.

Trails and exercise

The Sentier du Rocher blanc begins in Melesse and is 6.7 km long. The Parcours du Parc du Quincampoix has also been created in Parc du Quincampoix; it is accessible to everyone and is 1,300 metres long. The Parcours Vivacité comprises four themed stations: Mouvement, Tonique, Zen and Équilibre.

Culture and history

The Porche Renaissance dates from the early 16th century. The restored structure stands on the boundary between Melesse’s old and new cemeteries and is accessible to everyone. Its elaborately carved wooden beams are decorated with quadrupeds, birds and figures.

Market and connections

At the market in Melesse, GAEC Bougerie is listed as a vegetable grower. La ronde des fromages is also listed there as a cheese seller. Bus route 511 between Dingé and Rennes serves Melesse.
